Piney Grove Kids

(Infant-6th Grade)

The children’s ministry at Piney Grove Baptist Church seeks to come alongside parents to raise a generation of children who will seek God (Ephesians 3:17-19), serve others (Acts 1:8), and stand strong in their faith against the storms of life and the fiery darts of the Devil (I Corinthians 16:13.) In Short, Digging Deep, Reaching Out, and Growing Strong.

Piney Grove cares about your kids!  Our volunteers partner with the parents to teach biblical truths and love the children unconditionally, just as Christ loves us.  We are honored to share how Jesus is the Son of God. He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and will come back again!

COVID UPDATE: For the health and safety of our children and volunteers, Sunday School classes are currently NOT meeting.

Preschool Sunday School:

  • Nursery is provided for babies from birth through age 1 by seasoned, regular volunteers.

Children’s Dept. Sunday School:

  • 1st Graders engage in the Explore the Bible curriculum.  Kids experience the Bible from cover to cover and encounter scripture in a way that sticks using engaging Bible objects .
  • 2nd - 4th graders experience Bible Studies for Life curriculum in their own classroom with peers close in age to encounter God's word in an age-appropriate manner.
  • 5th & 6th grade tweens use the Grapple curriculum which is based on real questions asked by real 10-12 year olds to get them plunging into the Bible to find answers to their biggest questions about relationships, faith, and choices.

RA/GA/Mf Mission Groups

Wednesday Nights 7:00-8:00 pm (Sept- May)

Through Royal Ambassadors, Girls in Action and Mission Friends, Piney Grove kids learn about people near and far that need to hear about Jesus and about those who are showing these people His great love.  Mission groups also provide the children opportunities to put their faith into action through local service and ministry projects.

RA's (Royal Ambassadors) seek to share the truth that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  RA is designed to help boys in grades 1st-6th come to faith in Christ as Savior, while making missions an important part of their daily lives.  They learn what it means to live a mission lifestyle while they participate in Bible study, mission projects and engaging activities. Some of the featured annual events that the boys enjoy are a Pinewood Derby car race, annual camping trip, fishing, and more!

GA's (Girls in Action) is designed to help girls in grades 1st-6th come to faith in Christ as Savior, while making missions an important part of their daily lives.  They build lasting memories as they "travel" to various places around the world when they learn about the work of missionaries.  They grow closer to God as they discover their part in His plan and they practice what they're learning through hands-on missions opportunities. Some of the featured annual events that the girls enjoy are the Father Daughter Valentine Dance, Mock Sleepover, Mother Daughter Tea, and more!

MF's (Mission Friends) is an ongoing missions discipleship organization for preschool boys and girls (3 years old-Kindergarten).  Through Mission Friends, preschoolers become aware that God wants everyone to know of His love, move from a focus on self to others, and apply Bible thoughts to their lives as they learn to pray, give and help others. Some of the things the kids enjoy are crafts, music, and games.

Preschool and children choirs

Sunday Evenings 5:30-7:00pm (Sept-May)

COVID UPDATE: For the health and safety of our children and volunteers, the children's choir and the preschool choir is NOT currently meeting.

The Children's Choir (1st grade - 6th grade) meet on Sunday nights to experience the joy of music and learn how to use it to glorify God. Each year the kids present two musicals and occasionally help lead worship during Sunday services. The musicals are filled with speaking parts, solos, and group songs.  Kids get the opportunity to act and sing, all while memorizing scripture!  The musicals are presented on stage with props, costumes, wireless mics and special lighting. Some Saturday practices are required. Check the church calendar for meeting times and dates.

The Preschool Choir (ages 3 years old - Kindergarten) meet on Sunday nights and participate in recreation, an engaging story, fun craft and a lot of singing! The preschoolers present several songs before each musical and occasionally help lead worship during Sunday services.
