  • Objective: 


    Lead and oversee a compelling, consistent, fluid communications and marketing ministry to the church and the community for our PGBC ministries.

     

    Reports to Minister of Adults

     

    Relates Closely With

    • Church Ministerial Staff
    • Administration Assistant
    • Student Communications Ministry Assistant

     

    24 Hours a Week         Working Onsite

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design, prepare and distribute all needed publications.
    • Plan and implement communications, church sign, website, worship promotion slides, and social media strategies to support the mission of the church.
    • Work with various ministries to post and maintain a consistent church wide calendar.
    • Maintain church membership records.
    • Answer the phone and be ready to assist office guests.
    • Keep consistent office hours as determined by the Pastor and Personnel Committee.
    • Meet regularly with supervisor to discuss directions, concerns, opportunities and accomplishments.
    • Perform other ministry duties as may be requested by supervisor.
    • Carry out responsibilities according to personnel, and policy/procedures manual of Piney Grove Baptist Church, as related to this position.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • A good working knowledge of computer systems such as Constant Contact, Canva, Planning Center,
    • and Adobe Suite.
    • The ability to work within a consensus decision-making process as well as possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism of all church matters.
    • Professional, courteous, and respectful interaction with church members and staff presenting a good Christian testimony to those who contact the church office.
    • Perform other administrative duties as may be requested by supervisor.
    • Compelling communications skills.
    • Must be willing to submit to a background check.

     

    Education and Experience

    • Preference will be given to those candidates with a minimal of a bachelor’s degree and 2 Years experience. 
  • Objective


    The objective of the Interim Youth Minister is to maintain existing 180 Youth Ministry programs for Middle School, High School and Young Single Adults. Additionally, a priority will be placed on loving and leading our students to know and grow in Christ.

    Under 30 hours a Week, working onsite

     

    Responsibilities:


    - Education

    • Lead in the coordination of Youth Sunday School including curriculum needs.
    • Organize and lead the Wednesday Youth activities and worship (Edge).
    • Communicate with Youth and Young Single Adult teachers.
    • Organize youth discipleship strategy.

    - Relationship Building

    • Spend time with the youth and encourage an open dialog with them.
    • Check in by phone or home visits. Be active on social networking.

    - Trips, Events and Retreats

    • Work with Youth Ministry Lead Team to Plan, organize and lead youth trips retreats, ministry & mission activities, and events.
    • Coordinate with the Young Single Adult Lead Team to plan and organize YSA events.

    - Activities

    • Plan socials and other activities at least monthly.

    - Communication & Coordination:

    • Work with Youth Communications Assistant to connect weekly with youth, parents, YSA and congregation.
    • If schedule allows, attend, and participate in weekly, Tuesday church staff meetings.
    • Coordinate all specific ministry activities with other ministry activities of the church.
    • Be available to the congregation through consistent office hours as agreed upon by the Senior Pastor.

     

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Have a demonstrated Christ-like heart for youth.
    • Demonstrated Christ-like maturity in Biblical understanding, relationships, giftedness and integrity.
    • Demonstrated giftedness in leadership, counseling and coaching skills.
    • Demonstrated gifts in administration.
    • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Must be in essential agreement with Piney Grove’s vision and theology.
    • Must be willing to submit to a background check.

     

    Education and Experience

    • Preference given to those with an associate degree or more.
    • Preference given to those with previous experience in a youth ministry position.

    The interim period described above will remain in effect until a call has been accepted for the position of full time Minister of Youth but not to exceed August 31, 2026. Continuation of the interim position will then be re-evaluated in light of our progress in calling a full-time Minister of Youth. Please know that the interim cannot be considered for that full-time position.

  • Objectives

    To develop a comprehensive and compelling student ministry designed to meet youth and young adults where they are so they might know and grow in Christ, with a primary focus on youth (grades 7-12).

    • Assigned Committees as Staff Liaison

    Hours: Full Time


    Responsibilities

    • Plan, develop and oversee a comprehensive ministry that helps our youth and young single adults mature in Christ-like understanding, relationships, service, and daily living.
    • Develop and lead a compelling Wednesday night youth worship experience.
    • Oversee youth and young single adult Sunday School ministries, working with directors and teachers to provide appropriate curriculum, materials, equipment, supplies and space.
    • Work in cooperation with the Nominating Committee in the enlistment of student ministry leaders and establish regular leadership training opportunities.
    • Lead in the development and implementation of appropriate policies & background checks for youth workers.
    • Provide guidance, training, counseling, and literature to volunteer workers who guide our students (including chaperones, retreat assistants, etc.)
    • Plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate special events such as retreats, seminars, rallies, and mission experiences.
    • Provide counseling for students within limitations of time and skill. Refer individuals to another pastor or professional counselor and related agents when appropriate.
    • Build relationships with the youth and their families through visitation, ministering in times of crises, sickness, bereavement, and through extracurricular school and community activities.
    • Work strategically with the Minister of Adults to meet the needs of parents/guardians of our youth. 
    • Keep consistent office hours as determined by the Pastor and Personnel Committee.
    • Prepare annual budget request and provide consistent administrative oversight of youth and young adult ministry budget.
    • Communicate ministry updates through church emails, websites, social media platforms, newsletters, assembly announcements, and business conference reports.
    • Participate in regular training activities for professional growth as agreed with the Senior Pastor.
    • Supervise temporary youth workers that may be employed by the church from time to time.
    • Meet regularly with the Pastor and ministerial team to discuss directions, concerns, opportunities, and accomplishments.
    • Perform such other administrative or ministerial duties as deemed advisable by the Pastor.
    • Carry out responsibilities according to the church’s constitution and by-laws.

    Qualifications/Skills
