"A defining moment is a point in your life when you're urged to make a pivotal decision, or when you experience something that fundamentally changes you. Not only do these moments define us, but they have a transformative effect on our perceptions and behaviors." - Forbes

The road that led to that first Easter morn was built on defining moments, Jesus entering into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday), His last supper with the disciples, (Maundy Thursday), and His death at Calvary (Good Friday). Each contained a defining moment, a pivotal decision that would lead to a definitive conclusion. But THE defining moment for all humanity occurred on the third day, when the stone was rolled away.

This Easter, we'll take an in-depth journey through the events of Holy Week.

Come enjoy the journey!

SITTING WITH THE DISCIPLES:

Interactive Last Supper Experience

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5th  |  5:30 pm & 7:15 pm

Student Building- Worship Center (Lower Parking Lot)

Sitting With the Disciples is a meaningful Easter experience for the whole family. The table will be set for each person to experience what it must have been like to sit with the disciples in the Upper Room on that night just before Jesus made his way to Calvary. As we journey through this 'Remembrance Feast' we will explore the individual elements of the Seder, tasting each portion, and telling the story of God’s great redemptive plan.

Dress is casual and the experience will last about an hour. This is designed to be a family-oriented experience so nursery will not be provided for this event. Instead, bring the kids and help them learn about the real events of Easter. Please note that although this is called a ‘meal’, it is not designed to take the place of your regular dinner that night.

Two Seatings: 5:30 pm & 7:15 pm  |  Space is limited to 50 per seating.
SIGN-UP REQUIRED.

TENEBRAE- A SERVICE OF DARKNESS (and silence)

FRIDAY, APRIL 7  |  8:00 pm

This is an evening of TENEBRAE (Latin meaning "the darkening"). This quiet service of word and song, and candlelight, then darkness acknowledges, once  again, the love that Jesus has for you and me... and what He would subject himself to... for our benefit. This is the evening before the morning... the shadow in the sunlight... the darkening before the dawn.

To provide a meaningful experience, we kindly ask all attendees to please enter in silence, remain quiet throughout the service, and leave in complete silence all the way to your vehicles.

PARENTS- While everyone is always welcome at Piney Grove, we want to make you aware that this service may not be suitable for younger children. The nature of this service is solemn, and silence is requested upon entering,  throughout the service, and upon exiting. We leave it to your discretion on whether or not it would be suitable for your child(ren) to attend.

This FREE event is open to the community!
